Emma Hart is the Richard S. Dunn Director of the McNeil Center for Early American Studies and the Roy F. and Jeannette P. Nichols Professor of American History. She is a historian of the British Atlantic World and has written two books and numerous articles on the development of its cities and marketplaces.
